If the contractor is not under the umbrella of a licensing board, you may be required to settle the case in court. If the contractor limit was $15,000 or under, you can handle it in small claims court. However, if the sum is more than that, you may want to consider hiring an attorney to manage the claim.

While contractor disputes can be stressful, it’s important to understand just how to go about them to reduce your losses. By following these steps, you are more likely to get your money back and be able to complete your home project.
