Connecticut Auto Insurance: Family Friendly Cars of 2012

Connecticut Auto Insurance: Family Friendly Cars of 2012The first thing that typically comes to mind when you think “family-friendly” is a mini-van overflowing with kids, soccer balls, and hockey sticks. While the influx of kids and sports equipment in your vehicle won’t abate anytime soon, there are a variety of family-oriented options that don’t include minivans.

Reported by MSNBC, the list was created by Parents magazine and online research firms Edmunds, and includes a variety of the best family vehicles of 2012. The list includes midsize sedans, crossovers, and SUV’s, a few hybrids, and even some downsized economy models sized for various-sized families and budgets.

Furthermore, 14 of the 15 vehicles on the list already earned a “Top Safety Pick” from the Insurance Institute Highway Safety. Every model comes with several safety features including at a minimum antilock brakes, electronic stability control and a minimum of six airbags. Parents and Edmunds say they considered prices and features, conducted their own tests and consulted with parents to compile the list. Below are the picks, listed by category:

  • Honda Civic Hybrid
  • Chevroley Cruze Eco
